“A Darkness still clings to that place… Once it was great, yes. But those days are past.” Daen IV, Commander of the Second Expeditionary Legion.

In ancient days, Durin was the only God to walk the earth, and was the founder of the first Dwarven Kingdom, Gharak-dun. While the true location of Gharak-dun, or Sevilas in Elvish, has been lost to the ages. It is unknown what led to it’s downfall, but is is rumored that the dwarves discovered the first Dragon, deep beneath the earth, or that they were consumed by strange beasts called Mind Flayers. It is generally accepted that if the Staff of Ichor exists, then it was hidden away here. The Mirrormere refers to a glasslike lake which is said to tell the future, and Durin saw a crown of stars above his head, so he knew this was where he would build his kingdom. The Tomb of Durin refers to where he was laid to rest when he saw that his children would prosper in this land, and he returned to the Heavens
